Tradition Meets Innovation: ÖÖD Mirror Houses Make Their Debut in Southern Europe at Spino Fiorito

ÖÖD is proud to announce its first-ever project in Southern Europe: the opening of two signature ÖÖD Mirror Houses at Spino Fiorito, a hidden gem nestled in the historic Lunigiana region of Tuscany. Launching in July 2025, this project beautifully unites Nordic minimalist design with timeless Italian charm, and marks a milestone in ÖÖD’s European journey.

Each of the two Mirror Houses is uniquely designed to blend into the enchanting Tuscan landscape. Wrapped in striking 180-degree mirrored walls, both cabins reflect ancient oaks, vineyard views, and the rustic stone textures of a classic farmhouse. One of the two cabins sits dramatically three metres above the ground, evoking a childhood dream treehouse, complete with a mirror-finished sauna suspended almost five metres high, offering a rare opportunity to unwind among the treetops while soaking in panoramic views.

It has always been our dream to bring ÖÖD to Southern Europe, and Tuscany is the perfect place to begin. At Spino Fiorito, our Mirror Houses don’t just stand in nature; they become part of it. The reflections of the trees, the mountains, and the ancient land create a space that feels both modern and deeply rooted in local tradition.

Rooted in Tuscan Tradition

Originally a family farmhouse for over a century, Spino Fiorito has been carefully restored by its owners into a boutique retreat that honours the region’s heritage while embracing innovative design. Local wood, terracotta, and stone meet sleek mirrored architecture, offering guests a unique sense of privacy and luxury without disturbing the natural environment. Perched gently on the landscape and, in the case of the treehouse cabin, high above it, these cabins amplify Tuscany’s authentic textures and scenery while providing modern comforts. The design is fully reversible, ensuring the land remains untouched for future generations.

We wanted to offer something truly special: a way for guests to feel at home and fully immersed in the scents, colours, and sounds of Tuscany. ÖÖD allows us to blend our family’s story and local traditions with a new, sustainable kind of hospitality.

A Stay Designed for Slow Mornings and Starry Nights

Guests can wake to birdsong drifting through the woods, sip local wine on a private terrace, or unwind in a sauna surrounded by trees and starlight. Days can flow from yoga on a secluded forest platform to cooking classes featuring traditional Lunigiana recipes, to exploring nearby castles and marble quarries.
